t’s taken 10 months, but the Stanton Register now has someone in house dedicated specifically to covering Stanton County.
Ashley Hale officially began her duties Monday and will serve as a news reporter, photographer and graphic designer.
Hale graduated from Elkhorn Valley High School in Tilden in 2016 and earned a bachelor of fine art’s degree in graphic design from the Creative Center College of Art and Design in Omaha in 2019.
“I’m excited to have Ashley join the staff because she brings a foundation of creativity and design that I know our readers appreciate,” said publisher Carrie Pitzer. “In the months that we’ve owned the paper, what I’ve heard most from readers is they love the color, content and presentation of the paper. With Ashley on board and in Stanton, we can step that up even more.”
Hale will spend the next few weeks working from both the Stanton office, as well as the Neligh office, as she trains in the journalism aspect of her position.
Among her duties, Hale will be in charge of online and social media posts for the newspaper. She’ll also be covering various meetings, including board of education, City Council and Stanton County Commissioners.
“Stanton has been so supportive of us from Day 1, and I appreciate that more than I could ever express,” Pitzer said. “I’m looking forward to providing a better service to the community by covering more news. Having Ashley in Stanton will allow us to step up our coverage, and that will benefit Stanton County.”
