The community of Stanton is encouraged to help honor its seniors on Saturday, May 9. The Stanton Register will be live streaming the parade on Facebook here.
A vehicle parade will begin at 2 p.m. to celebrate the Stanton seniors. They will begin the parade at the elementary school, where most of them began their education 13 years ago. They will then be escorted to Ivy Street, where they will proceed from the courthouse to St. Peters Church, turn around, and make a few laps back and forth from the courthouse to the church. Family and community members will be standing along the parade route and practicing social distancing, to watch and celebrate the Seniors final journey. After a few laps, the seniors will end their parade on the street in front of the school, where their high school journey ended. Once in front of the high school, seniors are to park on the street, one vehicle in front of the other. Students may then exit their vehicles while practicing social distancing, and wait for the families and community members to get there. Once everyone is there, the seniors will throw their caps in the air. |
