Condolences For Peggy Marshall

Peggy Marshall, 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Menorah Park in Syracuse, NY on the morning of May 5, 2020.  Peggy was born in Stanton Nebraska, November 22nd 1936 to Edwin Marshall and Maude Matheson Marshall.  She was predeceased by her parents, sisters Donna Harris (Jerry) and Margret Bauer (Lavern), nephew Barry Bauer and niece Jeri Lynn Harris.  Peggy is survived by her nephew Terry Bauer, nieces Sue Harris Carter (Duane), Donna Palmer (William), Judith Harrell, and nephew Edwin J Harris.  She Traveled to Nebraska three times a year to visit family and friends and cheered a loyal fan!  Her ashes will be interred in the family plot in Stanton.

Doctor Marshall received her BA from Doane College, Crete Nebraska.  She received her MA from the University of Michigan and PhD in English from Indiana University.  In 1975 she began a 25 year tenure teaching English in New York.  Within a few short years she distinguished herself as a beloved teacher, valued mentor and colleague and strong advocate for teacher professionalism.  She became chair of the English dept, advisor to National Honor Society and president of the teachers association, earning the respect and admiration of fellow teachers, students, school administrators and board members.  Doctor Marshall also served in a leadership role on the CNY English Council, on the cabinet of Syracuse University Project Advance and as an adjunct instructor in education at LeMoyne College.

Peggy loved and lived to travel.  She co-chaperoned student tours to Ireland, Russia, China, India, Japan and SE Asia.  Since retirement she has joined an annual theater tour to London each January.  She would delight in quick trips or accompanying a friend to just about anywhere.  She will be missed!
