I, David Morfeld, would like to formally announce my intentions to seek the office of Mayor of the City of Stanton.  Having been raised in Stanton and a 2002 graduate, I enjoy volunteering and giving back to the community that provided me with so many opportunities.

I am currently an elected member of the Stanton School Board, President of the Stanton Booster Club, and a Director of the Stanton Youth Basketball Program.  I have been married to my wife, Lorry, for 20 years and we have three children – twin girls Kylee and Kharee (10) and son Kolton (7).  I take a great deal of pride in the successes of our schools, community members, businesses, and churches.  I have always been proud to call Stanton my home, and I want others to see what a great place we have to live.

As mayor, I would like to restore and repair that same strong sense of connection and pride for all residents, establishing a community where we all enjoy and appreciate what we have to offer.  I will be visible at community events, celebrating as many of your wins as possible.  I will do what I can to promote growth and stability within the community, while thinking outside of the box to try to find new ways to improve roads and facilities.  I will focus on honesty and transparency, with recurring communications sent out that provide updates or reasoning behind decisions.

Most importantly, I will listen. I want to hear what our residents feel are the most pressing opportunities, and I will be transparent about why something has happened and what actions can be implemented moving forward.  Plain and simple, I love the City of Stanton, I love the people, I love living here, and I love raising my family here.  If I can help others find that same love for this community, then I will raise my hand to help every time.

I look forward to working and conversing with each of you in the future. Great things are happening in Stanton, and even greater are yet to come!
