Nancy Ann Hunt (Vollbrecht), 76, of Eagle, Idaho, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on August 2, 1949, in Norfolk, Nebraska, and her life was a testament to kindness, devotion, and joy.  A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on September 14th, 2025, at 12:00 pm at St Peter’s Social Hall, 1502 Ivy St, Stanton, NE 68779. Friends and family are invited to gather and share stories, laughter, and love in honor of a truly extraordinary woman.

At just 18 years old, Nancy married the love of her life, Dick Hunt. Together, they built a beautiful life and celebrated over 57 years of marriage. Side by side, they raised four children, creating a home filled with love, faith, and laughter.

Nancy dedicated over 30 years to the telephone industry, where her warm personality and genuine care for others made her not just a co-worker, but a friend to all. Beyond her career, she found deep joy in her community, always trying to help faithfully and living out her beliefs with quiet grace and compassion.

Those who knew Nancy will remember her for her constant smile and her remarkable ability to see the good in everyone and everything. She had a disarming warmth that instantly put people at ease, and she possessed a rare gift for making every person she met feel valued and special.

Nancy’s life was not just long in years, but rich in love, laughter, and faith. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and the family she cherished so deeply.

Patrick G. Cunningham was born to George E. and Marie (Baker) Cunningham on August 18, 1966 in Grand Island, Nebraska. Pat died from a motor vehicle accident on June 17, 2021 at the age of 54 years, 9 months and 30 days.

He graduated from Stanton High School in 1984. On January 2, 1988, Pat married Deborah Bergland in Norfolk, Nebraska. To this union, two children were born – Stephanie and Bradly. Pat’s family was his world. He enjoyed being a husband, father, and especially a grandfather! Many wonderful times were spent with Deb, Stephanie, Bradly, Amanda, Johnathon, Keene, Owen, and Leo Cunningham. Most Friday nights you could find Pat on the sidelines of a football field cheering on his brothers, son, nephews, or whichever team just happened to be playing locally. He would also head down to KC with friends and family to catch a Chiefs game whenever possible. A highlight of every year was the annual Fourth of July Party Pat and Deb hosted at their home.

Pat was a doer. He was involved in many activities over the years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge – Euclid Lodge #97 and Order of the Eastern Star #250. He was a charter member of Gideons International- Gretna Camp. He was active in the Ashland Men In Mission. He was a member of the Louisville Jaycees, Nebraska Jaycee Governor #353, JCI Senator #66294, and served as a board member of the Nebraska Jaycee Foundation. Currently Pat had been serving on the Eagle Scout Board of Review. He was a member of the Louisville First United Methodist Church and was instrumental in providing breakfast for the Fair Stand every year. Pat’s pancakes and biscuits and gravy were well known! He was the Chairman of the Board for South Bend for 20 years. Pat was involved in helping and donating his time to anyone in need. He did not want any personal fanfare for any of these actions.

Pat began his employment life at Schnieber’s Fine Foods/Cashway and worked there for ten years. He was then employed by Werner Enterprises for 24 years. Within the last year, Pat started working for the State of Nebraska Department of Transportation and was really enjoying his work life.

Those left to cherish Pat’s memory include his Wife - Deborah Cunningham of South Bend, Children - Stephanie Cunningham of Kearney, Bradly (Amanda) Cunningham of Hastings, Grandchildren - Johnathon, Keene, Owen, and Leandro Cunningham, his Mother - Marie Cunningham, his siblings - Susan Umholtz, Sondra Schuetz, Staci (Matt) Palmer, David (Julie) Cunningham, Michael (Ashley) Cunningham, In-Laws - Roxine (Paul) Mitchell, Charles (Jolene) Bergland, Richard (Phyllis) Bergland, Ted (Bonnie) Bergland and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his Dad – George E. Cunningham, In-laws - Donavon and Helen Bergland, and Brother-in-law - Tim Bergland, and a great nephew.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cass County Fair Grounds, 8420 144th Street, Weeping Water, NE 68463. The service will be live streamed on the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Facebook page. Memory sheets will be provided for anyone to share their memories of Pat with his family.
VISITATION will be at the Cass County Fair Grounds on Tuesday, June 22 from 1-7 p.m. with Masonic Service at 7 p.m. Family will be present from 4-7 p.m.

A Memorial Mass for Ronald “Ron” Lee Pohlman, 75, of Stanton, NE, will be Monday, March 29, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Stanton. Reverend Gregory Carl will be the celebrant. The visitation will be Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the church. A private family burial will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Home for Funerals in Norfolk is in charge of the arrangements.
 
Ron was born August 27, 1945 in Norfolk, NE to Alfred and Adeline (Klawonn) Pohlman. He graduated from Stanton High School in 1963. Ron married Gwen Stuchlik on July 10, 1965 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Stanton. He loved attending his children’s and grandchildren’s events. His family, especially his grandchildren, were his pride and joy. 

He had a way of keeping the grandkids engaged in what he was talking about and enjoyed teaching them new things. All the neighborhood kids were adopted by Ron and he would look out for them and treat them as his own. Ron worked at various places such as in construction, truck driving, and farming in Stanton County.

He is survived by his wife, Gwen Pohlman of Stanton, NE; children, Shawn Pohlman of Stanton, NE, Shantelle Pohlman of Omaha, NE, Shad (Amy) Pohlman of Stanton, NE, Seth (Monica) Pohlman of Stanton, NE, Shane Pohlman (Gabriel Estrada) of Omaha, NE, Shaelynne Pohlman (Kristen Boleski) of Topeka, KS; brother, Roger (Ilene) Pohlman of Story City, IA; eight grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, and infant daughter.

Rodger Dale Rabbass, 73, of Dodge, formerly of Norfolk, peacefully returned home to Jesus on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021, at Methodist Fremont Health Hospital in Fremont.
   The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Ave., in Norfolk, with the Rev. John E. Nelson Jr. officiating. Visitation was from 4-7 p.m., Friday, March 5, also at the chapel. There was a family prayer service on Saturday at 10:45 a.m. at the chapel. Interment was at the Stanton Cemetery, with military services provided by the Nebraska Army National Guard Honor Guard, VFW Post 3602, American Legion Post 88 and the American Legion Riders.  Home for Funerals was in charge of arrangements.  
   Rodger was born Jan. 22, 1948, in Pender, Neb., to Irene (Hansen) and Leroy Rabbass. He grew up with older brother, John, in the Leigh, Madison and Stanton areas. The two spent their childhood getting into mischief with each other and many cousins. 
   He attended Stanton High School, where he met the love of his life, Anna “Kathy” Kathleen Lipp, in 1964. He always said from the moment they met, he knew she was the one. From that moment, they were inseparable. 
   The longest time Rodger and Kathy were apart was during the time he spent serving in the U.S. Army. He left high school to enlist in the military, serving as a Sergeant in the Vietnam War from April 1967-April 1969. The psychological and physical toll of the war were burdens he carried his entire life. Still, he battled to overcome the many challenges those wounds left.
   Rodger and Kathy married July 27, 1969, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, in Fremont, Nebraska. The couple lived in Norfolk, where Rodger worked for Vulcraft for 24 years as a welder and rigger. He also worked as a truck driver at the Battle Creek Co-op. While in Norfolk, the family was members of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
   In 1998, Rodger and Kathy moved to the Kansas City, Missouri, area, where Rodger drove truck for Robinson Delivery. He loved having the chance to see different areas of the city and nearby states. A connoisseur of Kansas City restaurants, lover of Kansas City sports, old Western movies and Law & Order, Rodger loved having family visit. One of his favorite memories was of the trip he and Kathy took to Alaska in 2009.
   The couple lived in the Kansas City area until returning to Nebraska in October 2018, when they moved to Dodge, Neb.
   Always fixing things, Rodger was known for his love of fixing cars and lawn mowers. He came from very humble beginnings, but was able to provide for Kathy and their five children. The couple also helped raise 4 of their grandchildren and 2 of their great-grandchildren. A strong-willed, determined man, he taught his children to never give up, whether it be in marriage, family or your health. He will always be known for his humor.
   One of his proudest achievements was that he had been a recovering alcoholic for 38 years, thanks to Valley Hope and Bill W.
   Rodger had a list of other proud achievements. Those include his five children, 15 grandkids and 5 great-grandkids.
   Rodger and Kathy celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on July 27, 2020.

-Daughter Traci Rabbass of Olathe, Kan.; and children Josie Rabbass of Ottawa, Kan.; Tyler (Samantha) Wieseler of Norfolk; Brady (Meaghan) Adams of Tonganoxie, Kan.; Hannah (special friend Austin Carter) Adams of Olathe; Jackson (special friend Sidney Vinzant) of Overland Park, Kan.; and Wyatt Adams of Olathe.
-Son, Troy of Dodge.
-Daughter Megan (Tracy) Stromberg and children Kade, Aubrey, Isaac, Isabella and Grace, all of Columbus.
-Daughter Mindy (Jamie) Dlouhy of Clarkson and children Kaitlyn (special friend Trevor Oeltjen) of Creston, Colyn and Hadley of Clarkson.
-Son Justin (Rebekah) and daughter Anna, all of Dodge.
-Furbaby Lady Bell.
-5 great-grandkids
-Mother in law, Dorothy Lipp of Wayne.
-Aunt Lillian Sondergaard of Grand Island, uncle Duane Hansen of Norfolk and several cousins.
   He was preceded in death by his father in 1986, mother in 1998, father-in-law Frank Lipp in 1983, brother John Rabbass in 2009 and sister-in-law Stephanie Rabbass in 2016. 
   The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Fremont hospital staff for their compassionate care, especially chaplain Scott, Dr. Ami Jones, Dr. Sukstorf, nurse Tara and the other third floor nurses. We pray you will be repaid for the kindness you showed our dear Rodger. God has given you all a great gift!

​  A Celebration of Life service will be held this summer for Darlene Jean Wegner Sivesind, 63. of Santan Valley, Az., who died Feb. 18, 2021  at her home in Santan Valley.
  Darlene J. Sivesind, daughter of Joyce and Dale Wegner of Stanton, was born on Aug. 12, 1957.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church and she attended the Stanton Schools, graduating at Stanton High School in 1975. She also graduated in 1977 from Northeast Community College in Norfolk.
  In 1979, she was united in marriage to Tim Sivesind of O’Neill and two children were born to this union.  She was employed by United Parcel for 17 years in O’Neill, after which the family moved to Chandler, where she had own swimming pool cleaning business and later was employed at Home Depot. The couple later divorced.
  Survivors include a daughter, Amy Ayer of Willmar, MN and a son, Tony (Morgan) Sivesind of Gilbert, AZ, a twin brother, Dale Wegner Jr. of Carson City, NV, a brother, Joe (Jeanne) Wegner of Fremont, NE and her parents, Joyce & Dale Wegner of Stanton.
  Her remains will be buried in the Stanton Cemetery at a later date.

Ardyce Arlene Zicht, age 92 of Stanton, died Saturday December 19, 2020 at Stanton Health Center in Stanton.  She was born February 5, 1928 in rural Stanton County, Nebraska the daughter of Fred and Anna (Eggers) Broekemeier.  She attended St. Matthews Lutheran School in rural Stanton County and was a 1946 graduate of Wisner High School at Wisner.

On March 11, 1951 Ardyce married Russell Zicht at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wisner.  The couple made their home farming north of Wisner for 15 years and moved to Stanton in 1967.  They were married 54 years when Russ passed away in 2005.

She was a bookkeeper for Stanton Public Schools until 1990 when she retired.  She enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing bridge and many trips to Las Vegas with her friends.  She enjoyed traveling which included a special trip with Russ to Germany to meet relatives and numerous trips to Hawaii.  She was member of Faith Lutheran Church for over 50 years, a life member of V.F.W. Auxiliary of Post #3602 of Stanton and is Past President.

Survivors include 2 Children Jana Zicht of Stanton; Paula and Al Provorse of Omaha; 2 Grandchildren Al Provorse of Lincoln;  Makenzie and Vincent Long of Maumelle, AR; 1 Great Granddaughter Sophia Long of Maumelle, AR; nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ardyce in death are her parents; husband Russell on May 9, 2005; 2 Brothers; and 2 Sisters.

Funeral Services for Melvern H. “Mel” Horst, age 89, of Stanton, will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Avenue.  Reverend Ray Wilke will officiate.  Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.  Military honors by the Nebraska Army National Guard Honor Guard, Stanton American Legion Post 88 and VFW Post 3602.  Visitation will be one hour to service at the chapel.  The Funeral Service will be live streamed on the Home for Funerals Facebook Page.  Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.

He passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.

Melvern Harold was born on August 3, 1931 in Wisner, Nebraska to Emil and Helena (Steenkin) Horst.

Mel married Mary Jean Adelman on February 4, 1995 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Norfolk.

​Mel lived on the farm all his life except for his time serving as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He enjoyed farming and cattle feeding.  Mel loved his Lord and was a member of Zion – St. John Lutheran Church in Wisner and Our Savior Lutheran Church in Norfolk.  He was fond of his cats and dogs.  Mel had a special place in his heart for the Orphan Grain Train.

He is survived by his wife Mary Jean, son Mark Horst of Wisner, step children Jeanne (John) Cabral of MA, Fran (Son) Adelman of MN, Chris (Deb) Adelman of Columbus, Jeff (Deb) Adelman of Columbus, Bob (Deb) Adelman of Columbus, and Dan (Diane) Adelman of Norfolk, and many special nieces and nephews.

Mel was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Leland and Ivan.
